Wisdoms End This discovery felt like being Alice but instead of the white rabbit you followed a formless shadow and you fell into that hole... not because you wanted - it just happened and here you are. In the dark.

Another great use of a favourite instrument of mine: the cello.
This is nearly 9 minutes of something I would describe as the auditive equivalent of H.P. Lovecrafts atmosphere he created with adjectives in his novels.
Just hop into the "Malstrom".

about

“Litany for the Hopeless” is the first track by Blood and Dust, a collaboration between Lizbeth Poirier on modular synths and Hex Evans on cello, created during a one-hour jam session and reworked in software.

The best way we can describe / genre-fy this track is “horror drone”—i.e., slow-burning dread. And as “litany” suggests, there is a prayer-like aspect, echoes beneath arched ceilings, repetitions and calls and answers that rise up to devotion and descend to despair.

about

Blood and Dust Montreal, Québec

Blood and Dust is a collaboration of two dark queerdos inspired by horror cinema and occult myth. Part horror drone, part spookfolk, part post-rock, they blend synth and cello into nightmarish auditory rituals. It is the music you hear while wandering a cursed manor at night, calling you to the basement where dreadful things happen. Bring your salt, and stay safe while communing with the dead. ... more
